Debate surrounds the foundation of Lisburn Golf Club. The Club under its present constitution was, in fact, founded in 1905. For the next 68 years it occupied a compact nine hole course at Longstone Street in the heart of Lisburn. The present Governor’s Road bisects what was the first fairway on that course. Indeed a few of the majestic lime trees which were such a feature of the course, and which hampered many a shot on the first and ninth holes, are in evidence to this day. This championship course is testing for every golfer and has a wealth of character over its 18 holes. Situated at the junction of the M1 and A1 arterial routes it is very accessible to visitors and the Club also holds the Quality Assurance Award from Tourism Northern Ireland.
Rockmount Golf Club's dream began in the early 90's when Robert and Diane Patterson decided to turn part of their farmland near Carryduff into an 18 hole championship standard golf course. It's one of the few golf clubs, which recognises equal membership and playing status for men and women. There is no doubt that Rockmount is an excellent test of golf and one that you are sure to enjoy. After your round the Clubhouse offers excellent dining and bar facilities and a warm welcome is assured.
