About
Linen tableware was often woven to commemorate the crowning of a new monarch or important royal occasions. Marking the coronation of King Charles III in May 2023, this exhibition brings together four Coronation-related cloths from the museum’s collection including the ‘Waringstown Cloth’, the earliest Irish linen damask tablecloth woven for the coronation of King George II in 1727.
Exhibition running from 29th March to 1st June 2023
