Ivy Newt and the Storm Witch
Writer of the Flyntlock Bones series of books, has a new series, this time featuring Ivy, an unstoppable and loveable young witch. Ivy’s parents, the King and Queen of the Sand Witches have organised a magical surprise for her birthday, but the trick goes wrong and the king and queen really disappear. To find her parents Ivy and her friend Tom travel around Miracula on broomsticks and flying carpets in order to defeat the evil Queen of Grotland.
This interactive session will see you create your own tale, develop characters, pick a plot, and problem solve. You’ll find out how a story becomes a book - from manuscript to publisher’s proofs to finished article. There will be lots see, some fun impressions and even a magic trick or two. Derek will read from Ivy Newt and the Storm Witch too.
Come dressed for the occasion if you like, and bring along a witch’s hat, a broomstick or maybe a cuddly black cat (not a real one!).
