Fusion Theatre are thrilled to be bringing The Sound of Music to the Island Hall for the first time in their 22 year history!
Based on Baroness Maria von Trapp’s 1949 autobiography, this wonderful musical tells the true story of the world-famous singing family, from their romantic beginnings and search for happiness, to their thrilling escape to freedom as their beloved Austria becomes part of the Third Reich at the start of the Second World War.
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. The unforgettable score features some of the most memorable songs ever performed on stage songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favourite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide.
