Moira Speciality Food Fair returns to Moira Demesne this summer, showcasing the village's rich food heritage and innovative producers from the wider region.

This day-long festival includes family-friendly and food-themed events, interactive demos, and talks. Learn from the region's top chefs and food personalities alongside a series of expert talks, with ample opportunities for audience participation and tasting some of Northern Ireland's finest food creations.

Speciality Food Hall

The Speciality Food Fair will highlight the vibrancy of Northern Ireland's food scene, featuring artisanal producers blending native food culture with global influences.

In the Food Hall, you’ll get to meet top-tier food producers creating delicious and award-winning products.

For local and Irish cheeses we have Ballylisk of Armagh with their multi award winning brie-like cheese and Indie Fude with a range of artisan cheese from across the island. Seaview Farms, The Curly Pigs, Ke Nako Biltong, Ballyriff Buffalo and Kennedy Bacon will offer a range of farm-to-market products. We also have ex-Ottolenghi chef, Carlos Capparelli with his range of handmade pasta to take home but also to enjoy hot as a street food option.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with condiments from Burren Balsamics, spicy sauces from Habanero Steve’s and Red Dog Artisan Food, jams and preserves from The Lush Larder and Peggy’s Family Farm, fermented foods from Amberline and a range of seaweed products laden with health benefits from Crawford’s Rock.

We also have lots of drinks producers in the food hall, including Chala Chai and Hearty Growers with teas to boost your well-being.

Jackson Roze’s ginger wine and Moocha Kombucha organic kombucha drinks will be in attendance alongside Autumn Harvest with apple juice and cider vinegar produced with apples from their own orchard.

Papas Minerals will be serving lemonade to quench your thirst but also cordial to take home. Ballydown Milk will be serving milkshakes from their own farm’s gently pasteurised milk - they also produce a fabulous Greek style yoghurt.  Artisan breads and sweet treats including the finest patisserie can be found at The Daily Apron, Kin & Folk Bakery, Rosie McNeill Cakes and Ollie’s Patisserie.

We also welcome first-timers Eastern Bagel with their range of Asian inspired bagels made in Lisburn.

The Food Hall is always buzzing with activity. So why not come and chat with Northern Irish farmers and artisan producers and discover something new?

Kitchen Sessions

We are delighted to welcome back Paula McIntyre to head up the Kitchen Sessions stage. Paula will be demonstrating a recipe from her TV programme, Hamely Kitchen, using local food from producers inside the Speciality Food Hall.

She is also our host for a stellar line up of local Moira chefs including Chris McGowan from the celebrated Wine & Brine restaurant and Leigh Ferguson of Origin 101, Stevie Higginson from Square Bistro

The Annex

In the annex, just outside the Food Hall, you’ll be able to pick up gifts such as hand poured candles, lip balms, jewellery, textiles, prints and even treats for the dog.

Gracehill Flower Farm will provide a colourful entrance to the Food Hall with an abundance of locally grown and seasonal flower stems and bouquets.

Street Food

This year’s line up of street food is even more impressive, with almost every cuisine covered. Lisburn and Castlereagh locals include In The Mix with coffee and cakes, The Square Pops Up which will be dishing up Korean fried chicken dishes while

The Gardener’s Kitchen will be preparing gourmet sandwiches and soups made from ingredients grown in their kitchen garden.  We also have burgers and loaded fries from The Hatch and first time attendees, The Flavoursmyth and Flaming Jos.

As well as all of that there will be Thai food, raclette baguettes, crepes, scampi, gelato and much more!
