About

Power Up is a motion sculpture that has three foot pedal crank mechanisms. Users sit on the stainless steel base and pedal with both feet to power the LED lights above them.

There are also three hand crank mechanisms that have been designed with disability users in mind. The hand cranks can be used by everyone so in total six people can work together to generate the 20 LED lights above them.

A kinetic energy unit was specially designed and built for this sculpture. The steel base houses an impressive control unit that enables the correct operation of the sculpture.

THE ARTIST: Marc Kelly is an award winning artist who specialises in sculptural work on a public and private capacity. Projects that fuse imagination and integration form the backbone of his art. He works with a variety of mediums including fibreglass, stone, wood and bog wood and fuses flawless technical skills with complex design to create exciting works.
